: OK, here's the lowdown on things. Celestia's told me that she's crowning her student Twilight Sparkle not only for the creation of new magic, but also to fill the role of "spokespony".Parcly Taxel
: And how does that affect me?Luna
: The royal sisters deserve equal attention, but this move by itself would tip the scales towards Celestia. Thus I've spoken with her, and we've decided to make you a princess too.Parcly
Why me out of your bunch of faithful students?Luna
: For your contributions to various sciences, my dear. Some of your research overlaps with Sparkle's - you've found the true fundamentals of magic, how a few dozen equations and constants generate everything in Equestria.Parcly
: That is fine with me. Do you have anything else?Luna
: Putting wings on your body will be surprisingly easy - I understand you are a unicorn born of two pegasi. Sure, it's not normal, but it becomes another of your quirky characteristics.
Having done quite a few requests for others, I felt it was time to push further (as always, following *KP-ShadowSquirrel
's advice) and vector out some new concepts. The idea here began out of a criticism of the bronybase's reactions to Twilight's coronation. I reasoned
that the move was alright, but a fifth alicorn could be introduced to make things better; this alicorn would be Parcly herself.
Soon I sketched out the dress and regalia, which were designed to be of a "scientific" disposition in contrast to Sparkle's "romantic" garbs. The crown, shoes, and button on the collar are made of platinum. Why? Because (1) platina = "little silver" in Spanish => little Luna and (2) silver would tarnish. The overall design is supposed to represent the coming of nighttime, and with it the sense of curiosity that drives science forward. This is probably the world's first open-source princess. Also, the picture got submitted on my one-year anniversary of becoming a brony!SVG source file
